"Naseeb Govinda" is a Bollywood film released in the year 1972. The movie stars Rajendra Kumar, Shakti Kapoor, Shanta Zaveri in lead roles. "Naseeb Govinda" has been directed by Mohan Segal and written by Mohan Segal, Laxmandas Majumdar. It tells about a wealthy man Naseem who is not satisfied with his life and lives out his dreams with the help of Allahabad gangster Jogi who proposes to live on the edge of society. The movie is widely regarded as one of the most memorable performances by Rajendra Kumar. "Naseeb Govinda"'s original score was composed by the duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal, who were known for their work in Bollywood movies. The song "Mitwa" by Mohd. Rafi was a chartbuster that year, other notable songs are "Ruk Ruk Ruk Ruk" sung by Kishore Kumar and "Pyar Bhara Aadmi Hai" sung by Mukesh which was an all-time-great hit. The movie became successful at the box office and was declared as a hit movie. Naseeb Govinda(Rajendra Kumar) is a wealthy man with lots of property and fortunes. But he is not satisfied with his life, he thinks something is missing in his life. Naseeb’s friends suggest him to try out different things which they think gives thrill to one’s life, like alcohol drinking, horse racing etc. Naseeb does all but is not happy. His friend suggests him to go to the red light area which is known by people as the "Red Block", here where all sorts of crime is committed. Naseeb finds it very strange and scary place but still goes there. He goes to a shop and buys a suit and sandals and gives them to a small boy who is passing by. The boy gets very happy at this, Naseeb sees the boy running behind a Santro car, he asks the boy to stand on the road holding both sides of the car, he asks his driver to speed up the car as fast as possible. Naseeb’s friend asks him why did you want to do that, he says I want this child to live on the edge of society where everything happens at a very fast pace which gives a thrill- a feeling that you are not going to be left behind. Suddenly two masked men come there shooting everyone in their way. Everyone is shocked and think their days are going to end. Naseeb thinks I’m going to live till the last moment of my life, he takes a gun from one of the masked men and shouts – "Mitwa" (friendship), as he fires shots in the air. The shooting ends as if someone had deliberately stopped it, two old people appear who were behind all this. They introduce themselves as Jogi (Shakti Kapoor) and his uncle Kaka (Prem Chopra).
